"I would not recommend Brenda based on how the sale of a property I co-own was handled. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I co-own a home with my ex-wife, and we are on amicable terms. I am currently deployed overseas, so I necessarily relied heavily on her to manage the sale of the property. She chose Brenda as the listing agent because Brenda is related to her current husband. At the beginnin… Read Moreg, I had no issue with that arrangement and trusted her judgment. Brenda initially appeared to be doing a good job preparing the property for sale. Unfortunately, the situation changed dramatically when a serious domestic-violence matter arose between my ex-wife and Brenda’s cousin. There is a police report and an active legal case concerning that incident. After my ex-wife reported what happened and there were legal consequences, Brenda went to the property, removed the staging items, did not notify my ex-wife beforehand, did not respond to her calls, and only afterward informed her by text that the listing was being terminated. That decision did not affect only my ex-wife. It affected me as a co-owner of the property as well, despite the fact that I had nothing whatsoever to do with the personal dispute. It also delayed the sale of an asset I own while I am overseas and unable to manage the situation directly. What I found especially troubling was the refusal to meaningfully separate the personal family situation from the professional obligation to the sellers. My ex-wife asked that the 30-day holdover provision be modified so she could immediately move forward with another realtor after Brenda chose to terminate the listing for reasons that appeared intertwined with the family conflict. That request was refused. Communication from the brokerage afterward did little to improve my impression. A team lead sent a message referring to “what has occurred” and the “harmful impact of the family,” while in the same communication insisting that all discussion remain strictly business-related. That contradiction struck me as particularly unprofessional. If the expectation is that the client keep personal matters out of a real-estate transaction, the brokerage should hold itself to the same standard. I also found the situation disappointing because Brenda presents herself publicly as a Christian and regularly includes Christian scripture in her professional communications. Everyone is free to practice and express their faith, but when faith is made part of a professional brand, clients are also going to notice when the way they are treated appears inconsistent with the values being presented. My biggest issue is not that a realtor is ever allowed to terminate a listing. It is the manner in which this was done, the apparent overlap between a family dispute and a professional real-estate relationship, the lack of advance communication, and the impact the decision had on two property owners — including one who was overseas and completely uninvolved in that dispute. Based on my experience as a co-owner of the property, I found the handling of this matter extremely unprofessional and would not choose Brenda or this team to represent me in a future transaction" Read Less
